Cycle to Walk Kick-Off at Mile '0'
Ramesh Ferris started his 7200 km adventure to cycle from Victoria to Cape Spear, NL. Ramesh aims to raise the awareness of polio and its devastating effects. The cross-country trek is to educate people about the continuing need for immunization (11% of Canadians have not been immunized), raise funds to help the global eradication of polio, and support the rehabilitation of polio survivors in poor countries.
No event kick-off can be without the introductory remarks. Councellor Chris Coleman represented the City of Victoria
